At Golden Truffle Lagotto, our mission is to raise healthy, well-socialized Lagotto Romagnolo puppies from carefully selected Italian bloodlines. We understand that adopting a puppy is a meaningful and emotional commitment. To ensure clarity, trust, and peace of mind, we have established the following Refund & Return Policy, designed to safeguard both your family and the long-term well-being of our dogs.

1. Health Records & Veterinary Documentation

At the time your puppy goes home, you will receive:

A complete veterinary health record detailing all vaccinations, deworming, and preventative care.
A licensed veterinarian’s Health Certificate, issued within 10–21 days of travel or pickup (depending on state requirements).

If a health certificate cannot be issued due to scheduling or timing restrictions, Golden Truffle Lagotto will provide a written Breeder Health Guarantee confirming that the puppy has been examined and found to be in good health at the time of sale.

2. Mandatory Initial Veterinary Examination

To validate your health guarantee and ensure your puppy continues to thrive, you must:

➡️ Have your Lagotto Romagnolo examined by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of receiving the puppy.

If the veterinarian determines that your puppy is clinically ill or unfit for sale, you may choose one of the following options:

a. Return the puppy for a full refund.

The puppy must be returned with all registration papers, records, and documentation.

b. Exchange for another puppy of comparable value.

If a suitable puppy is not currently available, you may reserve the next available litter.

c. Keep the puppy and receive reimbursement for veterinary treatment.

Reimbursement may be issued up to the purchase price, depending on the condition diagnosed.

Important:
Conditions that were fully disclosed in writing at the time of sale are exempt from these options.

3. Genetic Health Guarantee (Coverage Through 12 Months)

Lagotto Romagnolo puppies from Golden Truffle Lagotto are bred from fully health-tested parents. Because of this, we confidently offer a One-Year Genetic Health Guarantee, covering hereditary and congenital defects that:

Result in severe medical compromise,
Significantly impair quality of life, or
Lead to early death.

Examples of covered genetic conditions in this breed include (but are not limited to):

Juvenile Epilepsy (JE)
Lagotto Storage Disease (LSD)
Hyperuricosuria (HUU)
Patellar luxation (severe genetic cases)
Hip dysplasia (moderate to severe, OFA-confirmed)

What is not covered:

Minor, self-resolving issues such as parasites, mild Giardia, coccidia, or kennel cough
Conditions resulting from injury, inadequate care, obesity, or neglect
Allergies or environmental sensitivities
Non-genetic conditions diagnosed after the puppy arrives home

Golden Truffle Lagotto reserves the right to request a second veterinary opinion if the diagnosis is unclear or if further clarification is needed.

4. Notification & Documentation Requirements

If a health concern arises, notification must be made within two (2) business days of diagnosis.

You must provide:

Your veterinarian’s name, clinic address, and phone number
A detailed veterinary report or certificate describing the condition, diagnostic findings, and prognosis

Failure to follow these requirements may void the health guarantee, as timely communication is essential for the protection of both the puppy and the breeder.

5. Returns & Rehoming

Golden Truffle Lagotto will always accept any puppy or adult Lagotto back at any time—no questions asked and no judgment.
This ensures that none of our dogs ever enter a shelter or unsafe environment.

Refunds are only applicable within the terms outlined above, but lifelong rehoming assistance is always provided.
